Bio
Born in Brasov, Romania I was surrounded by art much of my life. I picked up drawing from an early age due to my father who also was a graphic designer and painter. However, it wasn't until my mid 20's that I realized my calling was art and painting. After earning a BFA in graphic design, I thought I found my place. However, the projects I worked on left me wanting more. So in my spare time I begun to make my own paintings. After I finished my first painting, The Face of Time, I realized how much I love what I was doing. I had what people like to call an epiphany or a moment of true clarity.
ARTIST STATEMENT
The vast body of work I've made represents the many exploratory ways painting can take. Encapsulating a broad range of styles such as abstract, impression, and expressive; the process I take, of providing viewers with a novel and original experience, has helped me find a voice which plays at the textural aspects of a painting.
Regardless of my subject, I arrange a variety of compositions with the interest of playing with both harmony and disharmony. My paintings range vastly because it’s not the subject itself, but the feeling behind it I’m interested in. There’s a certain sense my instincts endowed me with, which I must satisfy in order to finish a piece. In exploring this feeling, I’ve found a way of painting which allows me great freedom and has allowed me to see the abstract as real, and the real as abstract. I don’t really feel there’s a difference between any art style and approach because it’s the feeling we chase. At the end of the day, art only gains its boundaries through the boundaries we have in our heart and mind.
